BackLinx

Find the people already asking what your business answers.

BackLinx is a Mac application for small business owners. It reads the search data for your own website and the comments on your own YouTube channel, finds the questions people are asking that you have already answered somewhere, and drafts a reply in your own words for you to send yourself.

Made by Hybridizing Dragon Fruit LLC, a working dragon fruit nursery in Cape Coral, Florida. We built BackLinx to run our own business before we sold it to anyone else's.

What it does

Sees what people actually search for. BackLinx connects to Google Search Console and shows you the searches that bring people to your site, the pages that rank for them, and — more usefully — the questions being asked that your site does not answer yet.

Learns your own expertise. BackLinx builds a knowledge base from your own published work: your website, your articles, and the transcripts of your own YouTube videos. It never invents expertise you do not have.

Finds the conversation. It watches public forums and the comment threads on your own YouTube videos for questions your knowledge base can genuinely answer.

Drafts the reply — you send it. BackLinx writes a draft grounded in something you have actually published, and cites it. Then it stops. BackLinx never posts anything anywhere. Every reply is read, edited if you like, and sent by you, by hand.

Why BackLinx asks for Google permissions

BackLinx asks for four permissions — five technical scopes, two of which are the standard sign-in identifiers — and each one is used for a single, visible feature:

  • Search Console, read only. To list the websites verified to your account and read their search performance — queries, pages, clicks, impressions, position. This is the data behind the Content Gaps screen and the Analytics screen.
  • YouTube, read only. To read your own channel's video list and the comment threads on your own videos, so BackLinx can show you viewer questions you have not answered.
  • YouTube (force-ssl). To download the caption text of your own videos, so your spoken expertise becomes part of your knowledge base. The read-only permission returns only the list of caption tracks; the text itself requires this permission. BackLinx uses it for nothing else — it never posts, edits, deletes, or uploads.
  • Your email address. So the Settings screen can show which Google account is connected.

BackLinx never writes to your Google account.

Where your data goes: nowhere

BackLinx has no servers, no accounts, and no cloud. It runs on your Mac, connects from your Mac directly to Google, and stores everything on your Mac. We never receive your data, so we cannot lose it, sell it, or read it.

The AI that drafts your replies is bundled inside the app and runs on your own machine. No part of your business, your search data, or your customers' questions is sent to any AI service.

Requirements

macOS on Apple Silicon. A Google account is optional — BackLinx works without one, with fewer features.
